Kind of a disappointing day in one way but overall a decent hunt. Went with Robo99 and Zach today to a community outside of my home town where I got permission to hunt an old church. I had high expectations and thought we would get some silver because the church was built in the 40's. We started early to try and beat the heat but we were not that lucky. We got to the church and started the hunt but were only finding a few clad coins. We both started thinking that the church has probably been hunted before. I managed to pull out 3 wheat pennys, a 1917, 1957, and 1955. Those were the only significant finds from the church. We decided to go to some ballfields of another nearby town and found quite a bit of clad there. I was real lucky and found a nice silver ring with a blue stone. It is fairly heavy and I was glad to get a silver something. I ended up with $5.04 in clad for the day. It was so hot that we called the hunt and decided to come back to the ballfields after a nice rain because the ground was like concrete. There was clad everywhere but we did not find anything old.

Glad you got out before it got too hot, and ended up with some good finds, I try to start between 4-5am on the days I can get out.
Best of luck in the future,
Bill

nice score on the ring :icon_thumleft:

Nice finds Pesc!
I will take a silver ring anyday.

As for the old churchyards, yes...seems that alot of posters here all have similar results. Obviously, well hit sites back in the BFO days. :dontknow:
