I have a chance to pix up a used E trac for around $500 I have been using a Whites but I got rolled in some surf and long story short it no longer works. I would like to ask if anyone here knows how the E trac works in sand? This one does have a waterproof coil on it. I looked at new cost so I think it is a bargain at that price but I could be wrong. I know nothing about them but figured if I am going to buy another machine I might as well step up into a better one

Thoughts ???

$500 is an awesome price an E-Trac as long as its in good condition. It will be great in the sand, just dont go wading with it or it could end up like your whites.

That's a great price for an E trac, from what I've read it should work very well in the wet sand.

If it is in good working order and hasn't been abused.....thats a steal.

An E-trac is as excellent in sand as it is in other venues. Wet salt water sand poses no problem either since it's a multifrequency machine.

Sometimes u just hafta take a chance. If it's any comfort, I've bought 6 used E-tracs off eBay...and every one of them has been a gem. Three of them were in mint condition. The most I've paid is $800, the least, $595. 😄 Good luck!
