Hi All,

I dug this eagle button while detecting yesterday. As the title says I am looking for help with the age of the button ( So Many Darn Eagle Buttons ) and what was it associated with.
I dug an Eagle Button a few years ago that looked military, but after my research it turned out to be 20th Century Civilian Button. It is a cuff button just so you all know. Anyways thanks for looking and helping if you can.

It is an 1854-1902 US Army Staff-Officer's button. You found the ironbacked small size, which was strictly for use on a kepi (hat) chinstrap.
