a Cuff button of some sort, try dramatic lighting from the side to bring out more detail. I can't see it well enough to tell date range

It looks like a Jacksonian button.

Is what I've heard from others until tonight, someone said Heraldic Eagle button?? I don't know the difference!

Patriotic button from the 1830’s. Worn on waistcoats/vests.
