Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I was on my way home after looking at a job about 30 miles South of where I live when I spotted some cut sandstone's in the woods. The stones were next to an area that was being cleared for a large electric powerline.
I asked one of the machine operators if I could do some metal detecting.
He said OK, go ahead , we're not working in that area right now.

I only walked 15 - 20 ft. and got a clear 89 signal on the Deus - a real nice 2 Cent.
Then the good finds just kept coming !
It's to bad this site is gone now, because I'm sure there were more good finds there.
Sorry for the bad photo - just been to busy to clean the finds and take new pics.
Here's what I found in one and half hour hunt ...

1829 - Half Cent
1839 - Seated Dime
1871 - 2 Cent
(3) Large Cents - 1820 - 1831 - 1831
Miner's Tag *** Ohio Tested & Sealed Tag *** (3) 1800' s Flat Buttons
Rival Dog Food "This Dog Belongs To" Tag *** Brass Buckle
And, as on every hunt - a 2001 Clad Dime

Good Hunting !

Tragic that you were only able to spend 1.5 hours there before losing it- what a site! Regardless, what you were able to find was absolutely outstanding- Congrats!!

way to seize the moment, great timing and great saves. wtg

Wow! What an incredible selection of recoveries in such a short time. :occasion14:

It's also somewhat upsetting to think of what history has been lost by development of the site though.
Good on you for noticing that potentially early homesite.

You certainly get points for taking advantage of that particular situation. Some nice old coins there!
