EARLY 1800's SPIGOT

This Sunday this pewter spigot was found at a colonial location.

This spigot is known as a "Fenn Faucet" and was invented by a man named Gaius Fenn in 1823. I found a News Paper ad from 1825 advertising it.

The other spigot in the photo, which is a colonial brass spigot, was not found on Sunday, but earlier in the year.

Wow, killer finds. I found my first, nearly identical to yours, about a year ago. For some reason just wasn't sure it was from the period until I did a Google search "colonial barrel tap" and boom, there it was. Just one of those relics you really get a kick out of. Congrats
