Located an early 1900’s homesite in a soybean field that wasn’t on any of my maps. Ton of iron but slowed it way down and dug the solid repeatable signals. Managed to dig up an 1864 & a 1900 Indian cent, a 1910 Wheat, a plated fork with a cool pattern, a parasol guide, lantern dial, and what looks like a pickers check with a 3 stamped on it. Most interesting finds were the small Maryland shield pin and the brass teardrop whatzit. Any thoughts on those are much welcomed. I feel like I’ve seen the brass piece posted before. Not pictured are a horseshoe and axe head. This is the 3rd hunt in a row where I’ve put in a long hike only to dig an axe head on the first hole that I have to lug around. Nuts. Thanks for looking!

Identified the pin to be a vintage State of Maryland Public Schools brass lapel pin.

Cool Maryland pin! That is neat! Your tear drop them is a gag swivel off of a horse harness. Gotta luv those "injuns," too. Well done, sir.

Thank you very much on the ID. I know I’ve dug those before and thrown them away. Just never knew what they were. Appreciate it.

Very nice assortment of finds- check the 64 Indian for the L on the ribbon.

Great assortment of Saved relics. Well Done, and Continued Success to you.

What is the rectangular thing on the right with the slits and the screws?

That is a full set of harmonica reeds minus the wooden harmonica. I’ve never dug both sides attached with the nails in perfect condition like this. Most often you’ll dig the pieces of a reed. Here’s a better photos of both sides.

Ok thanks I have found several reeds but didn’t know if it was just part of building material

Cool finds. Your splendid silverplate fork is 'Star' pattern from Union Silver Co. circa 1880.
