This shoe buckle was recovered near a wagon trail in the Rolesville and Wake Forest areas of NC. The buckle displays a gold gilt (wash) on the rear of the copper shoe buckle. This piece would have been a great looking gold plated shoe buckle for sure in the
1800's days! The copper wire ring was recovered from a home site within close proximity. The copper wire ring was crafted from a single strand of copper wire. Under a microscope the copper wire strand is square in shape.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting and study!
