Found in southern Indiana, it's very thick and heavy unlike what I am used to finding in the sandbar.

I bet it started out much bigger and was worked down until it was too thick. Nice find.
 

Thanks for the compliments, as well as your suggestion of this being a much later phase of this points past. I do feel it was well worked by a highly skilled individual, they just can't reproduce these types. Well, not just any flint knapper lol
 

Nice find.

It looks like it might be more Woodland than Early Archaic. Google Woodland stemmed point and you’ll see some examples.
 

In my area, stemmed points are generally late archaic. Gary
