Nice finds kfetters.

Nice digs there have only ever gotten pendant with chain once so far while detecting, for me that is a rare find :treasurechest:

Lucky! I would love to try our Park but I doubt they would let us. Would have to ask the Rangers. I've never heard of anyone detecting at our Park but not sure. Nice find.

I would not recommend asking rangers that is a good way to get a "NO" for an answer (If you ask the Ranger then you are asking his opinion and own interpretation of fair use and rules etc. )! Instead check websites for the park (the states page) and if its a historic area you can forget about detecting there also. My own opinion is that public recreation areas should be OK to detect after all detecting is a "recreation" and when the right recovery methods are used this should leave little to no visible traces(none is preferable) afterwards. Rose I don't know where you are at but in some states, parks are a definite no go, in other states it is OK, again check on your states parks web page for parks listing.

Thanks guys! The necklace signal was jumping around like it was a can, decided to move some dirt and it paid off. Awesomeness!
Rose, definitely do some research online. I can only dig in city parks. State parks are off limits for us. Plenty of good spots though. :)

Is the pendant sterling? If not, what do you suppose it's made of?

The pendant itself is pewter. Not sure about the chain. Can't find any markings and there is no clasp. My machine said silver as the hit though.
