Found this big rusty knife in the trash. Thought it was some Vietnam War-Era thing but it turned out to be an original US RH 1936 fighting knife, manufactured by the PAL Cutlery Company. These were issued to soldiers in WWII in the early days. I soaked the blade in oil, carefully removed the rust, and then polished on buffing wheel. The leather cleaned up nice too. It is still sharp.
