Hey all, beginner from the east bay. I've been detecting parks and beaches, and panning streams and rivers very sporadically for a year or so. Looking for people to go detecting with more often.

Ace 350 and the newbie stuff, couple gold pans and a classifier. Found mostly junk and coins, one silver, about a 1/2 gram of gold and a drop of mercury.

Looking for a fancy beach scoop. I tried to make my own, burned out the drill bit in just 5 holes and gave up haha!

Also tried signing up at kinzlicoils but no response.

Thanks

Iv'e always wondered what someone could find in the shallow water along the bay on the SF side, since most of it was fill dirt from the 1906 earth quake.

Thanks everyone.

I'd like to go exploring, but I think most water access is all federal land on the north side or concrete everywhere else. Maybe down near hunters point and candlestick (was torn down a couple years ago, and I don't know what's there now.) but I hear it's pretty rough neighborhood and don't know about access. Scuba might be an option around the piers, but don't know the legality or safety.

Hello and welcome, neighbor. Drop me a line anytime.

Mostly trout, but also bass, stripers, steelhead on occasion. Anything on a fly is good. Lately more time digging than fishing, but looking forward to some good all-in-one trips this summer. Gotta love these Ca rivers.

Yup, we have a treasure trove here.

I've only flyfished once and found out I probably can't get good at it, very finesse fishing and I'm kind of an oaf. A buddy talks about flyfishing for dorado and stiper though, which I might be able to do. I'll throw crank baits for striper all day though, that's so much fun. Bass and trout are good to, but never messed with steelhead.

Welcome to the forum FC. Best of luck up north.
