Easter Digs in Charleston SC.....My First Buttons

Went to visit family in the Charleston SC are over Easter, got to get out for a couple of hours. I found many firsts for me, Flat Button, Smaller button with some lettering on the back but I can't make it out. Belt Buckle and a what is it.

Whatzit is a Leather stud/rivet for a horse harness or similar. (haven't changed design for 200 years)

Yep Crusader hit it on the head. You find those at old sites a lot. We have dug many from Civil War related sites.
