A Game Ranger, while making his rounds in the Oregon
forests, came upon a man sitting at a campfire eating.
After saying hello, he asked what the man was eating.
The man answered, "Spotted Owl."
The Ranger said, "Don't you know they are illegal to kill, much less to eat."
The man replied, "I was hungry so I killed & ate one."
He was given a ticket, & three weeks later appeared in court.
The judge said "didn't you know it was against the law to
kill & eat a spotted Owl?"
The man said , "yes your Honor, but I was hungry."
The Judge thought it over & only gave him a warning, as the
man was walking away the Judge asked, " By the way, what does a Spotted owl taste like?"
The man responded with a smile, "kinda tastes like a Bald Eagle."
