Dang it! Bad Storms Here! Sooo many places planned to search out there today...Even an old place just torn down for new home. But heavy rain, cloud to ground lightning & Loud Thunder + mud, mud, mud! I shouldn't have planned it! Probably can't even see the eclipse as dark & cloudy as it is. :(

Hope the weather breaks for you and you get a good hunt in soon!

Standing in line for free solar viewing glasses right now. Viewing is around 245 here in Ct. Skies mostly sunny. Fingers crossed.

Im going to use a welding hood to view it, should be about a 76% eclipse in my area.

Thank You...it rained & stormed pretty bad. Still raining there but suppose to start up again harder. The mud out there gets really bad with even small amounts of rain. I might abandon the old home place mud & if it doesn't storm just do some field (grassy) areas & woods. Lots of small battles around Lexington & a Big One so I suppose anywhere would have potential!

Welding hood works great! BTW. Only half a view here. Looked like it got cloudy and that s it. Saw a half of an eclipse through the welding lenses

Worked well, they said around 76% but from what I saw thru the hood it looked to be about 60% or so. It was pretty neat, last time I saw one was in 1991.

Right as the sky turned pitch black, there in the bottom of the hole was a 1933 Double Eagle...

The lighting barely changed where I was lol!

No Detecting, No Black Out or Stars like they said it would be. Lots of MUD But I Did Get To See....Wait For It.... The Solar Lights & Yard Light Come On!!! Jeez. They even closed the school district down here for that.
