Annually on May 1st the road through the National Elk Refuge in Jackson WY opens to vehicles and allows access to the Bridger Teton Natl Forest. Hundreds of shedhorn hunters descend on the area to hike the mountains and pick up shed elk antlers and winterkill skulls. Here is a photo I took from high up in the rolling foothills looking down towards the Refuge, with the beautiful and impressive Tetons shining majestically as they do.

In Colorado west of I25 you can't pickup shed from January to April. Had a couple of park rangers inform me of that, as I was looking for artifacts one time. That's a pretty place your at.
