Thanks Goldin, the results are not getting better.

Another box, and only found one "s" mint. Of course, another 1992-s.
Would have preferred one I had not just found earlier this week.

Oh well, none on order now. Maybe next week.

Good stuff JJ. Keep at it and you'll get better finds, it's the one constant in this hobby.

Hobby? Don't you mean addiction?

Thanks

Jake, did you think you had a whole roll of 1992-S's when you saw that one on the end?

Ignorance rears its ugly head....whats the deal with the S's? Im not I want to slow down to look at all those mint marks....

Any S mintmark half dollar signifies a proof coin. Proofs were specially made collector coins that were struck twice using specially polished dies that give the resulting coin a mirror finish with extremely sharp details.

Proof aren't made for circulation so when one is found it's an oddity. There's usually no extra value attached unless the coin doesn't exhibit any wear or heavy contact marks.

LOL, I have to admit it has become quite an addictive hobby... the best part is, you can spend all your rejects to keep the passion alive!! ;D
