This is another piece of family history from my Gt Grand Father from Bolton. This is a 36" carved cane with a handsome panther on it and a silver(?) ring. Not likely worth much but it lives happily in a corner.

Nice thing to have. I would think it's probably meant to be a dog rather than a panther. Typical antique market prices for sticks like that range between about £80 - £120 or more depending on quality of carving and whether the band is hallmarked silver.

I would put yours at the lower end of that range but, as a family heirloom, I'm sure has much more value to you than that.

The metal band did not polish up, so it's not silver. Thank you for your answer
