Detector(s) used
Deus XP 3.2
One of the mounting ears on the coil just snapped off. Detector has only 12 hours of usage. Not well designed, the ears are way too thin. No excessive force was applied. Minelab is sending me a new coil. Check yours and see if the ears a bending. I am going to order the strengthening adapter.

Getting a new coil is the only fix.

I had my 15" coil replaced for the same reason. The main reason seems to be either overtightening of the bolt, or, once there's some wear, the ears just can't handle the strain anymore. What strengthening adapter are you going to use? I've heard that one of them seems to make the problem worse.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB!!! My guess is they have replaced 1000's of these already.

I had a Two-for, both my broken coil and water logged control unit went back in the same box. I highly recommend not giving your equinox that is supposed to be waterproof to 10 ft a simple rinse in the shower!!!!

PS. I am still waiting for their return! They received on April 8th.

I dunked mine while it was still under warranty just to be sure:thumbsup:

I am not sure which adapter yet. I literally used the detector on some open fields. Took it out of the car and it was broken. It was no event tight. I would strengthen the next coil with epoxy, but that is a warranty killer.

Everyone should do that before their warranty runs out.

Just to close this out. Minelab quickly replaced the coil under warranty. The ears20200425_185520.webp on the replacement coil were still thin and the same. Had a friend's son make a coil stiffener with his 3d printer with a design found online. Back to the field.
