I upgraded today from my semi trusty Garrett 300 to the Minelab Eq 800. Currently on the initial charge. Quite a different machine, I hope it’s an improvement!
Get it out of the garage and get hunting, you,ll answer your own question!

If that Equinox is as it appears - free standing.

You have over tightened the lug nut which makes you a candidate for the broken ear club.

If you find the Nox is not that much of an upgrade, I'll give you a couple of hundred dollars for it!! :-)

Gonna be a learning curve if you have only used the 300. Keep it in factory settings to start with, it will way outhunt the 300. Also I suggest you download and print the free user manual from the Minelab website and read it several times. Another suggestion is don't try running at full sensitivty for a while, even down at 16-18 sensitivity it will go deep. Also you can select how many tones you want to hear and run, I suggest starting with five tones until you get used to the machine and then try the fifty tones. The Nox has many more capabilities than the 300, if you learn it well you will love it!!
