Error Quarter?!?!

The "I" in "In God We Trust" seems very faint, is it an error or just age? The quarter is a 1988-p. I can post better pictures if you need them! Thanks for the help! =D

It is a fairly common occurrence due to sometimes Die wear and deterioration and/or a clogged Die due to grease.
