Relic Hunting
I've been doing some testing on my etrac and while most of the testing has been done in air it's been fairly close to what's been done in my test bed as well. One target that is hard to get a definitive number on is nails or small iron targets. I can't for the life of me get a good baseline reading for it. Has any of yall done some testing and in the field digging and got the numbers for nails. I've been setting mine up for relic hunting and while it does pick up everything under the sun anyone would want to dig for civil war relic hunting I can't get a good reading or even get a repeatable signal on iron nails while testing but when I go out to hunt I find all the iron out in the ground.

It's probably because of all the different sizes, shapes, and degrees of oxidation you get with iron targets.

I've been testing TTF and honestly it seems to work good. I didn't listen as directed the first time out as far as don't pay too attention to the numbers cause they may be a bit off just listen for the higher pitch signals and the low tone for iron. I have one program saved with a mostly open screen and two tone conductive for iron laden parks I wanna try out

Nails and iron junk looks like this:

When you examine the location for this junk it looks like this:

Hard to keep all iron from sounding off but most elongated iron (nails) typically is some of the highest FE values.

Yea good luck with that;)

That's why I am not a relic hunter. Coins and jewelry all the way!
