though depth isn't amazing (quarter at 7") i had an iron and an al/5cent signal that i usually disregard as junk when i don't have a solid repeatable signal, a shovel was handy so i dug anyway. an old coke bottle cap was laying beside a nickle. for a hundred dollar machine i think thats awesome.

Hey Dimedigger...
I use a Pioneer EX also and could not be happier. For the money spent this machine flat out rocks. It's very accurate, and I have no problems pinpointing targets either. I don't think spending a thousand bucks on a machine makes enough difference to justify the cost. As long as your digging and having fun finding stuff, it's all good.

I have a old ex and and it was Layin in my basement with water dripping on it for along time and I pulled it out cleaned it up changed batteries and works 100%

My Mom had one now I have it been out once on Wed this last week and will spend a little time out later today with it... Like it so far.. Maybe I'll find a few coins
