We don’t have Omar’s but to me it looks like a geode that was utilized by a ancient person
 

I think it's possible that started life as a concretion in sandstone. It also looks like it could have been utilized as a small paint pot. The flat surface doesn't really look natural to me, but it's only a guess. Some day if I can find it, I'll post photos of a similar size concretion with both halves with the center still in it. It split open like a clam when I found it, apparently from freeze-thaw cycle..

I knew it once started as a concretion:icon_thumleft: when I first found it, I found them fairly often, it is the one flat smooth side at a perfect 90° angle that really caught my attention to pick it up and keep it, It just seems odd. Only a maybe...

I did find lots of nice artifacts in the same general area. I hunted several miles of that creek that had camp sites over the centuries. Lots of artifacts in Missouri.
