Re: Explored another field

Nice finds, is that some kind of chess piece or a seal matrix? HH, Mike

Crusader,
You and Dad are off to a great start.
What is the little gnome looking piece in the bottom row center?
Thanks,
MM

Thats the top of the spoon I mentioned. Flat top 17th century.

Re: Explored another field

Dad tried another field later today & got a Gold Plated ring (Clasped Hands). Not sure on age as its has no marks. Clasped hands were popular in the late Medieval period but copied alot.

Also I found in my collection the other piece of the medieval Spur Rowel (in my collection, found last year) found on day 10 of the other field that I finished on friday. :)

Re: Explored another field

The Roman Coins are always terrific. And the farthing as well. You probably have an ENDLESS supply of fields to hunt too living in England. Not too many forrests left in the country side there. The rowel is cool to. I am wondering what split it in two like that. I dont think a plow blade would slice through like that...HMMM But maybe it IS possible.
