Hey Bryan, do you remember a few yrs. ago just west of Warrensburg,MO., a farmer was having a hedge row pushed out when they discovered some cannonballs? Whiteman AFB bomb disposal guys went and took care of them. They were still explosive. Hope I never find any. Good luck.
 

No, I must have missed that story. Were they Civil War era cannonballs? I remember watching a video that the guy who finds all the Civil War artillery shells in Virginia creeks and rivers did where he dried the gunpowder from a cannonball that had been under water for 150 years to show that it still lights. I understand that post-Civil War shells are water-tight and are very dangerous.
 

I think they were thought to be civil war era. Best I remember there were several, 6-8. Good luck.
