I forgot to tell this story when it happened but it was about 5 years ago.

I was getting my hair cut and had a nice conversation with a young girl who cut my hair. Her name was Brittany Nichole. Here comes the strange part.

The very next day I was out metal detecting in a park near my house and I find a class ring with the name engraved Brittany Nichole. I'm like no freaking way, I just found the class ring of the girl who just cut my hair. I end my metal detecting to rush home to call the hair place and when I call Brittany answers. I tell her that I just found her class ring at the park, and she is like "Nope, I still have my class ring, I never lost it" Here is the even stranger part.

She went to the same exact high school and graduated in 2016 the same year as the ring owner. The school is about 10 miles from the park I found the ring in.

I call the high school, report the ring, they say they will try to reach out to the owner and I give them my name phone and email.

Now I don't know if this is just some HUGE coincidence or if she was lying for some reason. Maybe she was at the park with a guy and did not want a BF to know, I have no idea why she would lie but the whole thing is weird. I still have the ring after all this time, no calls, no emails.

I dunno even what to think.

Edited for typo

Try and get a hold on a yearbook for that year and look... or a list of students even... i am surprised the school did not check the records for you.
I admit that the whole situation sounds a little off.
2 girls with same name is all i can think off other than her either lying or not even knowing her ring is gone.
? ? ? :/

I would made another appointment with her to get a trim.

OBTW can you wear your graduation ring for me.

I'm slightly confused. You say the ring is engraved "Brittney Nicole", but it isn't. It says "Brittany Nichole". Which spelling did you give to the high school?

It's not clear if that's a double-barreled Christian name or a Christian name and surname, but I would assume the former, which makes it harder to check records.

Your forum handle suggests you're in Austin, Texas and a quick check on Google shows there is a Brittany Nichole Fermin living in Austin who went to Travis High School (who may or may not be the girl who cut your hair, depending on spelling and also not the only possibility of course):

It was just a typo in my original post. I remember when I was on the phone with her I went over the spelling and it was an exact match. No that was not the girl and I am not in Austin. The high School is named Leander High which is about 30 miles north of Austin.

Several Possibilties come to Mind

1, Brittany Nichole Sounds Like a First & Middle name
2. most rings have first and last names if not initials
the one who cut your hair ... Married to a nichole ? gave you her married name and just didn't explain that part.
3. Said she had hers But Was at work, Was it on her Finger ?
Or maybe she thinks she has it at home...
4 Did the one who Cut your Hais Say Nichole was even her Last Name (See 1)

I disagee With Turning it over to a Stranger at the School
who may throw it in a desk drawer till the school gets replaced.

or turns it over to a class reunion who lost track of her
and eventually forgets it .

would be one I'd research, By calling or Visiting the School office, Finding a Year Book, Online research or Even a Lost & Found ad, But I Personally would not turn it over to anoter entity unless they can prove a direct link of some type

I Hate to sound like an Ad but If you have Newspapers . com
You could Search the Decade Before & After the Date on the Ring for Brittany Nichole's who made the paper and compare too

or Visit her at work Or take it With Next Time she Cuts Your Hair Would be a Simpler Option :coffee2:

Well when she was cutting my hair she had a name plate on her desk area that read Brittany Nichole and that's the only reason I even remembered because I was staring at it for like 20 minutes while she cut my hair so I suspect that's her actual full name.

I even asked her when I was on the phone with her if she knew another girl in her same school with the same name, which she did not. You would think you would know if there was a girl with the same exact name graduating in the same year.

Thanks for looking. It's a freakin mystery. I'll try calling the school and getting to the bottom of this if I have to talk to the principal. The ring is not worth anything except sentimental value to whoever lost it, or maybe not, who knows with people. Maybe she was upset her parents bought her a cheap ring and tossed it into the full lake where I later find it when the lake is very low. There are a gazillion possibilities and variables to consider. Usually the quickest point to solution is the case, but not always the case. Humans do the craziest things. Hell last week I just found 4 buried witchcraft spells in the same park not 100 feet from where I found that ring. People do odd things.
