✅ SOLVED Extremely old button. Revolutionary War?

Hey Gang,
I'm not sure about this button, but I think part of it is pewter because of its heavy weight. Even though it is hard to see on the pics, there is a raised letter "D" on the face, which is slightly off-set. I found it in the yard of an old homeplace that has yielded everything from my 1600s Spectacle buckle to my Sambo cap gun to wheat pennies; it's truly a mixed bag area. Any information would certainly be appreciated. :) Breezie

Breezie, that almost looks like a rather large rivet. Just a guess.

Thanks all for the replies. I'd like to mark this one SOLVED, but there is a problem with the new software, and 'marked as solved' is not located under my Thread Tools. Hopefully the Admins will get this fixed soon. :) Breezie
