took the vx3 for a walk today. this is the second time out with it with the dd coil. i found a dollar in clad and a Flying Eagle this is my second one ever and number 2 for the year. i could not get a date out of it although i can read the writting around the edge. i was wondering if someones could see the date...Thanks for looking

Whoa...If that's an 1856 they are VERY rare and it should be considered for the banner and professional cleaning. Respectfully, there is no 1855 date for that coin(56-58). Only 2000 were minted for 1856 and in G$ redbook lists it at $6,700.00. Either way, congrats!!! Can't wait to find my first.

It is tough and no worries either way I see what you were initially saying about the "56", I would consider taking it to a reputable coin shop for an

expert opinion just to be certain if there's any doubt.

I do believe I see an 8 on the end..............but who cares, I'd love to find a dozen of "8's"......LOL!!
