took the vx3 for a walk today. this is the second time out with it with the dd coil. i found a dollar in clad and a Flying Eagle this is my second one ever and number 2 for the year. i could not get a date out of it although i can read the writting around the edge. i was wondering if someones could see the date...Thanks for looking

I Think I see a 5 But Don;'t know if it's a 55 or 56

Either way the vx3 Seems to be realy Working for you

Whoa...If that's an 1856 they are VERY rare and it should be considered for the banner and professional cleaning. Respectfully, there is no 1855 date for that coin(56-58). Only 2000 were minted for 1856 and in G$ redbook lists it at $6,700.00. Either way, congrats!!! :headbang: :headbang: Can't wait to find my first.

It is tough and no worries either way :occasion14: I see what you were initially saying about the "56", I would consider taking it to a reputable coin shop for an

expert opinion just to be certain if there's any doubt.
 
the problem for me is i looked at it so much that i can't make out anything...so i figured another set of eyes would help. thanks

WOW!!! Congrats Jim!! I can't wait to dig my first FE!! Today was a crappy day to be swingin' the stick....congrats on the resolve!!

I do believe I see an 8 on the end..............but who cares, I'd love to find a dozen of "8's"......LOL!!
