Ok, did some experimentation and you are right sir!
The 8" concentric that comes stock on the F2 will function on the F5 BUT- it yields less depth than when it's on the F2 on an air test! It picked up a dollar coin at like 4.5- 5 inches?!?! Terrible! Lol and the TID was all over the place though repeatable haha!
I tried the 4" coil as well it was a little more stable on the F5 but still didn't read as far out on the air test as it did on the F2.
Since I was doing all this swapping around with coils, I went ahead and threw the 11"DD from the F5 on the F2- BY FAR THE WORST IDEA EVER! Very unstable even at the lowest sensitivity setting! I got what seemed to be a few hits on that same solar coin but it had to be right on the coil, and again TID was a complete mess!
It was educational and interesting though, I think I wanna find out more about the way these things work on the electrical/electronic level. I have an idea, roughly, but now I'm deff thirsty for knowledge on this. Thanks Dave, you called man- I wasn't really surprised though after you said that though.... I'm sure you weren't either lol.
