F2 notch feature?

Does anyone know how the notch button differs from the +/- buttons ? I didn't really understand the manual.

push notch, press + till the desired ''field'' is notched out,then press notch again.just mess around with it till it makes sense.

The + - moves up the level of discrimination the detector will ignore starting at the lowest of iron.

Looking at your display, the discrimination is divided into seven pieces.

Notch will allow you to block let's say foil only but still allow you to hear the iron segment below it and those segments above it.

+ and - without notch only allows you to block everything below the level you set.

Try the examples in the manual several times. The manual is available on Fisher's website.

I get it ! With my Ace 250 the is a selection toggle switch so you can move the discrimination around. Thanks !
