Sometimes we have spots that are producing in a healthy way, and sometimes we don’t. We’re always looking for them, but in the mean time, why not try to squeeze something out of a place that you’ve hunted the crap out of? Only faith could bring anyone to detect where I found the first one. Tom could chime in about this small little triangle. Using a smaller coil and keeping a sharp ear for any indication of a coin signal, I was able to recover several wheat pennies and other coins. This is the kind of place where even one nice silver coin feels like a successful hunt.
Next up was a spot that seemed to hold tons of promise but ended up dry after only a few good recoveries. The smell of a skunking was in the air until I dug a signal that sounded nice and high with a cross hair indication well below what even a memorial would come in as. This is a red flag for some whacky junk………after digging, one can only wonder how many times other targets have been run over. Lots of work for two mercs, but I’m not complaining. In New York City Parks, they sometimes come out easy, other times you just have to force them the hell out. It’s the only way to consistently find silver.
