Kind of a gloomy day out today, so the wife and I decided to just check an old reliable church spot that keeps giving out clad and pull tabs but little else. Today was a little different. Sure, we still pulled tons of the usual but my 3rd tab signal netted me this
Hehe first ring for me ever!, Yah its pretty ugly but it seems there was an older gravel path to the chuch that was grown over where I found it so hard to tell how many people crunched that gravel mangling my precious, lol. I then preceded to gloat to my wife, the non pulltab digger, on how great I was for always digging them. That got her riled real quick.
We then split apart a ways digging more clad and whatnot till I pulled this little tidbit to rub in her face again
My 2nd coin sized token this year. Needless to say she's already competative when we hunt together and I was enjoying picking on her. After that she decided to branch out a bit from her usual hotspots and check around an area I told her used to have a bus shed for the kids to wait at.
I procceded to dig more pennies here and there letting her know about each one as she dug nothing. I was in the middle of getting a clad dime out when I hear her hoot and holler for me. From the look on her face I thought she'd found her first ring too. I yelled over and asked what it was and she says, "I don't know maybe a 50 cent piece necklace? It's got a hole in it!" Really bubbling over with excitment. When I got there and looked at it I was thinking maybe dog tag or postal token attatchment thingie, but after taking it home and cleaning it up out popped this beauty
Neither one of us had ever found any kind of religious item anywhere before. Needless to say she wins todays match. Kinda funny finding a catholic medalion like that at a pentacostal church though. Not sure who St. Christopher was the patron saint of atm, have to look it up now.
All and all a pretty good day out with the family. Even got the four year old out digging holes and enjoying it for a bit.
