Fancy reigns guide or something completely different?

Another hunt in my backyard and this came out. First thought was a light top
But it seems to sturdy for just decor. Maybe a reigns guide? Both sides are identical. Also its brass. What do you all think. Happy Hunting all.

That's a cool piece but not sure about a reins guide. Usually you would want a smooth area where the reins would ride...

Ya that's true never thought of that. It is thin but very firm. Just the bottom looked similar to a reigns guide.

I believe center bottom is an "owl head" figure.

Thinking it might be a top/handle/knob off a lid/container.
Not a rein guild

Possible cruet handle... could be standing ashtray stand handle... but doesnt seem large enough...

Something along these lines though.

If i had to place a bet / guess... i am gonna go with "Cruet handle"... or some other "server" type thingamajiggy.

Thanks, that's the thought I couldn't grab, cruet handle makes sense.

This part probably screwed into the stem extension of the cruet handle.
