Please... everyone hauling old iron from farm scrap piles and stuff, if you find old motors or equipment ask around and see if any collectors would buy it.. I know of several old tractors and implements that went to the yard that would have been worth several times scrap price to a collector!! lots of old engines are worth more than scrap, even though they might look like a pile of rusted junk. any old engine from a mower or other household item that is pre 1950 or so... might not be worth much, but it could be a source of parts for a collector. lots of farms had "light plants" or generators made in the teens or 20's, and most farms had old flywheel engines to run various machines from corn shellers to grinders, cream separators, and so on.
If you find anything like this, ask me and I might be able to put you with some people that are interested.
or if it's in central indiana I might be interested...lol...

My dad just went to a farm auction in Linclon County here is Kansas here a month or two ago, and he said there were some old engines, that had been sitting outside for ten or more years, and some of them sold for thousands! He bought a few of the cheaper ones for a hundred or two. One of them he bought he said he reconized it as an old power plant for down in a basement, 32 volts I think he said.
