I hit a lot that I haven?t hit in a while and pulled out some cool stuff. My first signal was a big surprise. It was a gilded coat size general service button and I was jumping for joy. It was even a bigger surprise to turn it over and realize it was a 1970s copy. Bah Humbug!!! Not sure why it was there but it was.
I knew I had to make up for it it but it wasn?t to be quite yet. The next hole was a brass furniture tack. Not even 2 minutes later I pulled up this brass suspenders piece with an ornate flower design on it. Nice pick up but I?m still looking for a button and maybe more. The next hole was a 50 caliber shot round ball that I didn?t take a picture of. My next hole was a 65 signal on the AT Max. I pulled up this cuff size great coat button with an intact shank and a back mark of United States. Well with that my afternoon was made! I decided to dig one more signal and got down about a foot and pulled out a hand carved lead piece with initials carved into one end. They appear to be LT. Not sure if it?s short for lieutenant or the initials of the soldier. Any way it?s a very cool piece. I?m not sure if it?s a game piece or something else. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking!!!

Love that suspenders clip:thumbsup: do you think that the game piece might be a wax seal with letters TJ backwards for imprinting. Could be but just my thoughts...nice finds!

I would be interested to know if Major General Thomas Jesup had been associated with your site. He was very involved with the whole Seminole War affairs in Florida.
