Today at lunch I walk by my favorite (best producing) bank and ask if they have any customer wrapped coins including halves. New teller says he has 2 rolls. I of course offer to buy them. He comes back with what appear to be two older wrapped rolled. One has written on it 1968 and the other 1969. This of course causes me new overwhelming joy.

They were true to their labels. Two rolls of 40%ers. I am stoked as silver is not so abundant here on the west coast.

Very nice find! I have yet to obtain any hand-rolled coins but I always ask... I'll bet that made your day!

Great score!

A similar thing happened to me last month @ one of my favorite (best producing) banks. I got 3 rolls of halves - 2 were all clad and one had 1968 written on it and the coins were true to it's label too - all 20 were '68D's. I had even better luck the very next week @ this bank with 42 x 40%ers but since then I haven't found anything - but I'm sure going to keep checking with that bank every week.

Keep on searchin'

Gotta love the tape on the ends, I find that a sure sign.

I remember when I had a big score of 3 solid cwr's of 90%ers in early September the 1st roll of all WL's and BF's had tape on both ends too. :)

Gotta love those old style rolls, almost always a good sign. :icon_thumright:

Nice finds!!!

The only solid roll I ever found was at a bank when I was looking for $2 bills...the teller offered them to me, and I bought them...that was my first CRH score, and I didn't even know they were silver until I found this site!

Nothing better than a big score with no dumping. :icon_thumleft:
