Federal Government Land and Building Ownership

The federal government owns 653,299,090 acres of land, yet Congress is constantly
attempting to buy more land with taxpayer dollars. On September 26, 2005, the
President signed into law the Wind Cave National Park Boundary Revision Act (S. 276),
in which the goverment would purchase over 5900 acres of land, despite the current
maintenance backlog in the national park service.
Most recently, the government is considering S. 2645 and H.R. 319, "The Journey
Through Hallowed Ground National Heritage Act". This legislation will put public land
that crosses through 3 states into the control and management of a select group of elite
few that will also receive almost $1 million per year as part of this legislation. Click here

I have personally encountered the gubments high quality management skills.
..gate off the whole area.. don't allow anyone to pass
..controlled burn wildfire management that has gotten WAY out of control
..bulldozing access to popular trails in recreation areas.
..directing new offroad MC trails towards the private property of 'inholders
..dynamiting springs
..destroying mine portals
..closure of historic mining areas to anything but a goldpan
..closing popular, safe, target shooting areas which had been in use for decades
..removal of waste receptacles from very popular recreation areas.
What's next?
What's next?
What's next?
Whew!
