Very cold night in a old local sport field. Got in about 60 min of digging before I lost feeling in my fingers. Not much trash, so only discriminated against iron and foil. Only issue was that I was digging lots of blank casings until I figured out how to avoid them. Do they still fire blanks at track meets?

Small sterling ring rang up as a zinc penny, strange these usually hit in the dime slot for me, but it was only about an inch deep. Only one wheat, in a definite silver coin drought, but still fun with the other goodies.

I dunno bout now, but back when I was running, my coach always used live double-ought buckshot. If I wasn't runnin' fast 'nuff!

Nice ring!

I doubt starter pistols are around anymore in schools. Those are probably old. Nice ring

That's a sweet looking ring congrats

Nice looking ring.

Stones in that ring look like dioptase. Congrats! -Lisa & John

Thx, dioptase? I think you are right. I googled blue dioptase and it is spot on. Thx for the ID!

I still see .38 starters guns being used, but getting pretty uncommon.
