Farmers field down about 6 inches.

Think it is a adz, used for cleaning timbers.

Dictionary I am using spells it adz, I always thought
it was adze.

Pulled it up and the hole for the handle was filled
with dirt. Got home and cleaned out the hole and
out pops the metal wedge, use to expand the wood
handle to fit tight. No sign of wood at all. Dirt and
roots.

all have a good un..

Neat find Sherm!

Sherm, you're right... it can be spelled either way, which is good to know if you ever play Scrabble.

Neat find Sherman! Any coins or other relics coming off that field? HH, Mike
