I was hunting on field with my g/f and Mr. Aquila. Weather was quite bad. It was lightly raining all the time and the field became quite muddy. But it was worth it, because I found this old silver.

daler.webp
1/12 Riksdaler (Swedish) 1779

Here are all my finds

Artica, do you have any history on that sweet coin?
im not familiar with that type of coin.

I’m not sure what kind of history you meant but…

Finland got its first own money Markka (Finnish mark) 1864. Before that Russian or Swedish money was in use. The area of present day Finland was part of the Swedish kingdom 1249-1809 and part of Russian Empire 1809-1917. During Swedish era every king or queen of Sweden had his/hers own set of coins. Also Russian emperors or tsars had own coin sets during their era. So, dozens of different coin types have been used here in Finland.

In this coin that I found the “G III” means King Gustav III
