Headed out today with my little brother and Mom, Arty had to work today. It was windy and sunny out and perfect digging weather. We have been hunting this field once a week for over a month now and have produced many great finds. I came away with 24 buttons today and 2 coppers. 1 is an 1820ish US and the other I think is a KGII. I also found a beautiful nipple button without a mark on it and looked like it was just dropped (Minus the steel shank) The finds are getting scattered but you just have to detect where the holes arent
. Looks like a carpet bomb went off on these fields. Well my brother did well and found a cut 3 cent
piece
which we thought was spanish. And a handful of buttons. Mom has something that made all of our finds found thus far pail in comaprison. Ill wait for her to post up but I could hear her yelling from a half mile away when she found it. Some people have all the luck
Picture with the Nipple Button is an early 1 piece marine. Needs some TLC but should clean up.
