Field shows signs of the past

First of all let me say Merry Christmas to all the Tnetters out there.
I went to a spot that I had high hopes for and it was a bust . After wasting my morning on that spot I drove around just looking the area over. I found a grassy field close to the river and thought maybe I would get lucky with a three ringer since there was some CW activity close by .
I only had about an hour to kill but I found some promising signs. My first dig has US on the front. It is old for sure but I think it is a piece of a lock... I found several homested type relics in a fairly short time so I will be going back in the morning. My thinking is there was a old home site since I also found some old pieces of bricks and some glass. Going to hit it in the morning for that gold coin.

Allen,not sure what the u-shaped item is but one loop is larger then the other. Pretty intersting.

I would say by those relics that you are on to a great spot. I bet we see some buttons and coins from you soon.
