I have been roll hunting for many years. I have had two items I wanted to find. One was a barber half. I got that a couple of years ago. The second was to find a earlier commemerative (I have found several later clad commemeratives). In my four boxes I picked up Monday I finally hit that second item. A 1952 Washington/Carver commemerative half. Would grade a solid XF - AU, but was on the end of the roll and has the scrape ring consistant with the machine that rolls the coins. I will still take it.

Nice find. What is the mintage on it?

That's a really nice looking one for your first! I think the reverse design is kind of lame, but the obverse isn't bad.

About 2,000,000 were minted.

I have yet to find a silver commem. how do you all do it?

Golden Silver

That ones in decent shape. The one I found was almost unreadable. :icon_thumright:
