Finally.. My 1st Wheat..

It can be so disappointing when you metal detecting for hours on end only to end up with a bunch of trash and modern clad.
Today I went for an hour after dropping my son back at the University. I did find a bunch of clad but also a 1964 nickel and a 1942 Wheat Penny.

I'm starting to hunt older parks now so hopefully I'll get some silver eventually..

Try to find older areas and don't be afraid to door knock. Dress nicely. It works for me.

Congrats on your first Wheat. Your on the right track, hunt the older places and you will find the older items. Dont be afraid to door knock. Private yards are the best place to be. You will be told "no" every now and then. Just thank them for their time and move on to another door.
