A well worn Indian Head Penny.

And probably the coolest thing I've ever found...

Some kind of a Pocket Almanac that allows you to determine the time of sunrise and sunset by choosing the month and day by moving a lever. (The lever is stuck obviously.) Didn't know what I had 'til I got home and cleaned it up. Cannot find anything on-line about it so am curious to age, but I'm sure it's antique.

Penny for reference...

And a brass thimble.

Today's finds...

1873-S Seated Liberty Dime
1882 Indian Head Penny
Pocket Almanac
Brass Thimble

Wow, great finds, that decoder or Sun dial, is way cool!

Congrats on the seated! That pocket almanac thing is great too.

great finds!, I like the almanac!

Now that is a great all around day of digs.

Just getting a seated would be a great day but you did even better getting that nice little artifact have never seen one of those posted before !!!

That's some good finds

That "Perpetual Almanac " piece is very cool - I'm guessing Circa 1920's - 30's - I don't believe I've ever seen one before - should be
able to research that online - ebay ? I would be stoked with the Seated and the IH !

Very nice finds. I have no seated coins, so that one really looks good to me. GL&HH.

Great finds!! Gotta love days like that!

That really is cool! Don't think I had ever seen one. I think that seated is pretty darned nice too. Hopefully I can find one. Nice Indian:icon_thumright:

A seated coin and a relic not commonly seen. Now that makes for a great day of hunting. Congrats!

What's the Date on the IH?

A great hunt indeed.

Davers

Love the almanac! It's so small though, the size of a penny! With something so small it's no wonder they didn't catch on, I'm sure using and reading it would be quite the challenge!

Perhaps a watchmaker can repair the mechanism? I bet that'd be a costly challenge as well. I think I'm the right auction given it's rarity a working one would do much better than $50.
