Gave them vinegar soaking couple of days, they were caked in rust. Remaining rust is just powder.

Maybe items related to a log skidding operation or farming? Hard to tell how old iron objects can be?. I've seen extremely heavy rusting on iron I know came from the 1940's in the soil of a field and have found a RR spike in the desert of Nevada on the old grade of the first transcontinental 1869 RR that only had a thin layer of rust, but being a RR spike made 130 years ago looks like ones made today I can't say I have a spike that was driven in 1869 or one that was use in track repair much later?. Some would say if it's hand forged over machine made it would then be old, but they still taught me blacksmithing in my vocational agriculture curriculum in high school in the 1970's, so I'm not so sure that's a way to date old iron either?.

Your spike piece looks like one end has square nut so maybe a bolt off a wagon?
