Went out to a little league baseball field, site of a historic hotel (Pioneer Hotel) in downtown bishopville, and a house in downtown bishopville built in 1910.
The Liberty head large cent came from the front yard of the house downtown. In the background of the same house is where we found the 1827 Capped Bust Dime. The large cent was almost on top of the ground. Maybe an inch down. I wonder how those coins got there
Most of all that change came from the baseball fields. It was crazy. We got pretty tired of digging modern change. Ended up with 2.50 in change, plus the 8 wheat pennies.
