Went to a couple spots today after getting my F2 with DD coil from MillerMDZ. Also my stepson tagged along using a spare detector. We had a great time...He wasn't out there but for a few minutes before finding coins! He was hooked after that! For me, it took a little getting used to pinpointing with the DD coil but I'm gettin it.

We didn't find anything of major significance but it was just nice gettin out to hunt!

Did manage to find Greg...or at least his name tag. LOL.

A few other finds are these metal pieces and clad. Only one wheatie...a '47.

Being able to hunt with your stepson is special in itself. Those will be "treasures" he will never forget, so in that regard they are of "major significance."

Very nice

Nice finds! Congrats and HH!

is the dd coil working for you on the f2? is it fairly quiet? what about the weight? is it still light? what can you tell me about the pinpointing with the f2 and dd.....sorry for all the questions. my buddy is upgrading from stock coil and i imagine it will be similar to my setup.

That's exactly what has me hooked about this hobby. I love the history involved, the anticipation of what's underground and being outdoors spending time with family and friends. But don't get me wrong, it's nice to get out on solo hunts too sometimes! :D

Great finds.glad he's hooked that's one more thing yaw can do together that yuns both enjoy.that piece on the bottom right corner is I believe out of a old clock.I've found some similar to it at old home places and school houses.you should be able to find some gears from it there to.

I've only had it out one day for a couple of hours so far so I can't give you a very in-depth opinion. It is still fairly light, no problems in that area.

I'm still working on the pinpointing. Im not exactly sure how the signal is sent out from the coil on the DD as compared to the concentric coil.

It does give a fairly good amount of "chatter" when swinging it. I think I need to do some fine tuning with the settings and hopefully quiet it down. I have had a few seemingly strong signals at first, but when trying to get a more specific location of the item, I either don't get another tone, or it sounds, but not consistent. Not sure if it is picking up on something deep or what...

I have noticed that I had more indications and found items deeper than with the quickdraw 2, which was what I had been using.
I am really impressed with the F2. I just can't wait to get back out and play with it more!

Thanks John Boy, my kids play baseball adjacent to that lot where my stepson found that piece. I had been told there used to be a house there at one time. We will definitely be returning...LOL

When I was 12 my father bought a metal detector from radio shack. He used it at an old battlefied near Springfield Mo. and found some cool relics. I used it one day in our front yard and my first find was a 3 lb cannon ball. I was hooked at that point. It is a great hobby and I hope your stepson enjoys going out with you and discovering the treasures yet to be found.
