Stryker-
How long you going to be out east?
Best advice-- find a river, go upstream where the human traffic quiets down some (and the water bashes things less). Indians were everywhere around here- all the way back to paleo.
Some folks have luck in the fields, I have luck in the water (unlike most people here, I think-- except for badandy). Hope you have access to a small watercraft. That's the only way to do it. Good luck to you.

Riverhunter,

Welcome, and thank you for the feedback. Mid-Atlantic coast? That is south of Maryland isn't it?

I came out here on JUN 19 and was supposed to be finished with this helicopter (Sikorsky S-61N) on 01 JUL-- :D The ole bird was a week and a half late--so I think I should be headed out to the fires in California or out west about 20 JUL or so

I'll have to see about getting out along a river.

Stryker-

Too bad you're held up, but it does give you more opportunity around here. Mid Atl. Coast, includes New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. I'd be more precise about location, but there's been some press recently (History Channel) about paleo peoples and their existance on Delmarva (Delaware, Maryland and Virgina slammed together- the peninsula between Chesapeake Bay and Delaware Bay and points south), and there's been a lot of 'foot traffic' along certain areas where I like to surface-hunt. Anyway, rent yourself a jet-ski or a kayak or something- and see what you can find. I have NEVER come home empty-handed (although sometimes it's just 'suspicious' rocks or 'significant' flakes).

Hope you find some time to get out there. This is an amazing area! HH-
